Crossover Knit Baby Booties Pattern
Garter Stitch version
Rows 1-12: First, bandage on 28 (32, 36, 40) stitches. Work xi rows of garter stitch and bind off, leaving a long tail.
Rows 1- x:Now, cast on vii stitches for the sole of the bootie, and work in garter run up until the piece measures iii inches for newborn size.
For 0-three months, keep until 3.25 inches,
three.5 for 3-6 months,
3.75 for 6-9 months and
4 inches for 1-year-olds.
Bind off, leaving a long tail.
Using the tapestry needle and the tail of the smaller slice y'all knit, sew the two pieces to form a T shape. The picture above should be your template for positioning.
Fold 1 side of the peak of the T over to the bottom and sew the brusque sides together. Also, sew the pieces together along the right edge.
Adjacent, fold the left side over and sew the bootie airtight at the toe and along the left edge. To cease, trim any excess yarn and turn the baby booties inside out.
Repeat for the second babe bootie.
All washed! You can make these garter stitch baby booties in any color and you can even switch information technology upwardly past making the sole a dissimilar color than the remainder or adding a row of another color equally trim forth the top. Whatever you lot make up one's mind to practise, these baby booties will continue little toes snuggly and warm. I like the textured await of the garter stitch, but allow's look at a smoother version with stockinette stitch and a rolled cuff. Let's take a look at that knit baby booties design side by side!
Stockinette Run up Version
Rows 1-14: Bandage on 28 (32, 36, forty) stitches and piece of work in stockinette run up for 13 rows. Bind off, leaving a long tail.
Rows 1-10: Cast on 7 stitches for the sole (which I did in brown yarn) and work in garter run up until the piece measures 3 inches for newborn size.
For 0-three months, keep until 3.25 inches,
three.five for 3-half dozen months,
3.75 for 6-ix months and
4 inches for ane-twelvemonth-olds.
Sew the sole piece to the eye of the longer piece to form a T. Fold the sides of the longer piece to the border of the toe, with the stockinette facing inside, and sew the edges up as you did for the garter sew together booties. So, trim any excess yarn and plough the bootie inside out. This step turns the stockinette side out and the extra rows volition form the rolled cuff of these babe booties.
Echo for the second baby bootie.
